Creativity

Interesting video from Michael Wolff on creativity.

Slide On Over

This is a great  idea from Justin Jensen. I have a gorillapod for DSLR’s and love it. This invention just opens up a whole new world of uses for it.

Time To Remember

Today was a day to honor and remember those who were lost 10 years ago on September 11, 2001. I hope that as we remember them we will also remember those who they left behind and keep them in our prayers.

Particles the Old Fashioned Way

Andrew Kramer comes through again with another genius idea. If you’re new to After Effects don’t miss all the great tutorials and plug-ins on his site

A Good Eye Beats Equipment Everytime

If you’ve followed my blog for long you know I have an affinity for tilt-shift photography. I love this video that Ryan Killackey and his wife put together from over 10,000 shots they took in California. What makes it even better is that Ryan created this all with basic equipment (Canon Rebel XS, 50mm, 18-55mm kit lens, 50-250mm). Proof that an artful eye trumps expensive equipment any day.

Back To The Basics

Are you new to DSLR photography/video or just looking to brush up on the basics? Then you’ll want to watch this trio of great videos from the uber-talented Vincent Laforet & Blake Whitman. You can view the other two videos on his blog.

If Christmas Happened Now

Amazing retelling of the Christmas story in a modern and relevant, yet classy way. The Igniter team really outdid themselves with this one. The moving background music is by a group called Folk Angel.

We Hold These Truths

I love this piece on the Gettysburg address. Read by Mitch Rapoport. Design and animation by Adam Gault and Stefanie Augustine.

The Unseen Cost

Barton Damer has posted a great article on his blog about pricing for motion graphic pieces. I had the privilege of sitting it on his breakout session last week at the Echo Conference and I was inspired by his outlook on design.
