If you’ve followed my blog for long you know I have an affinity for tilt-shift photography. I love this video that Ryan Killackey and his wife put together from over 10,000 shots they took in California. What makes it even better is that Ryan created this all with basic equipment (Canon Rebel XS, 50mm, 18-55mm kit lens, 50-250mm). Proof that an artful eye trumps expensive equipment any day.

Vivian was a nanny living quietly in Chicago for many years who liked to take pictures on her day off. No one really knew about her amazing talent until after she passed away and her work was accidentally discovered by John Maloof. You can see more of her work on John’s blog. The photos above were 2 of my favorites from the collection I have seen so far.

A Rare Find

Fascinating set of photographs from the Denver Post are some of the only color photographs taken of the effects of the Depression. They make the recession we’re currently experiencing not look quite so bad. Make sure to check out the whole set.
