This is a fascinating video on how the BBC shot a segment for the television series called Life. It’s amazing the amount of work and attention to detail that went it to making this shot possible. I’m inspired!

How Did They Do That?

Color Grading

If you are at all interested in digital film making, especially on DSLR’s, then you need to read Philip Blooms blog. He is one of the leaders in this emerging field. The video posted above is one that he shot at Skywalker Ranch to show George Lucas and his team the capabilities of the Canon 5D mkII & 7d. After you watch the video make sure you read his envy-inducing post about it.

Barton Damer has a great interview on his blog with Steve Hoover & Danny Yourd from Endeavor Media. It’s always interesting/inspiring to hear and learn from artists who are great at their craft. Creative Endeavor

Two things struck me about this great short film from Jonathan Holt. The art style and the excellently mixed audio. I felt like I could be watching a trailer for a big budget animation. Well done Jonathan!
