Project 365 – Day 311

[Day 311 - DPI]
I wanted to share with you the video bumper I did for the No Perfect People Allowed series at Dogwood Church. I really enjoyed working on this one and the more I use After Effects the more I like it.

My grandpa has written articles for the Detroit Free Press for many years, but they have always been sports related. Recently he was given the opportunity to write about more than just baseball, and I loved his latest article. It’s about his time at Emory University and hustling Tommy Dorsey to visit his fraternity. This was the first time I had ever heard this story, and it has me anticipating what next week’s article will bring.

I recently discovered Tyler Eide’s design work. I was mucho impressed with all his work, but was particularly loved his proposed face lift for Google Earth. I love GE, but I would be a lot more inclined to use it more often if it looked this good. Great work Tyler!

I love this very clever bookmark/cover idea from designer Igor Udushlivy. What a great concept!

I want to wish my Grandpa a very special 92nd birthday today! I feel so blessed to have such a great example of class, kindness, hard work ethic, generosity and genuine love for others. It was grandma and his gift of a computer to me on my 13th birthday that launched me into the career I have today!
Thanks for being such a wonderful Grandpa and I hope this birthday is your best one yet!

I hope everyone is having a good 2010 so far and I wanted to apologize to all my blog readers for the lack of updates and new content. When my laptop hard drive decided to give up the ghost on Christmas Eve I was initially very frustrated by it, but it actually ended up being a nice break after going non-stop around the holidays. What was originally going to be a short break while I ordered a new HD turned into almost a month, as I realized how much I was enjoying being away from my computer for awhile.
After taking a pause from it all I feel refreshed and ready to start some new projects in 2010. I have 60 days left in Project 365 and I’m going to finish it out beginning next week. I know technically it has become like Project 400 with “my pause”, but that’s the upside of it being your project… you can change the rules.
