Project 365 – Day Sixty

Day 60

[Day Sixty - Waterspout]

So I have to apologize for the reflections and lack of clarity in this photo. As we were preparing to leave this morning to head back to Georgia, we heard that some pretty heavy storms were about 20 miles away. Upon hearing this we decided to wait until they passed before getting on the road. I can’t tell you how much I love storms and being near them when they happen, so I was really excited to watch the storm roll in.

After waiting awhile with not much happening, the sky grew really dark and I noticed a pretty pronounced wall cloud rolling towards us. About 2 minutes later we saw the waterspout pictured above roll past the house. At first it was hard to see because it was rain-wrapped, but as it came closer we could definitely tell it was one. This was my first opportunity to see a waterspout and I wish I could have been out on the balcony to see and capture it better, but for safety’s sake (and at the pleading of my wife) I remained indoors. I couldn’t have asked for a more excting way to end our trip.
