Project 365 – Day One

project 365

So I know it’s a little late to be sharing New Year’s resolutions, but this year I’m challenging myself to seek out new ways to be and stay creative. One of the ideas I have come up with is to shoot & post a new picture every day for an entire year. I’m sure some pictures will be better than others and from different cameras (even my phone), and they will always probably be a little abstract, but I’m committed to this project and to stretching my creativity.

What are some ways you are trying to challenge yourself this year to be creative? I’d love to hear from you and for you to join me in my challenge. Here is my first photo to start it off…

Have You Driven a Ford Lately?

Ford Bronco

I’m so hoping Ford decides to build this concept Bronco. The rumor is it will only be about $10,000 when it hits the market. I’m in for one. How about you? More pictures after the break…

Connecting With Text

texting

I’m really interested in Jarbyco and their technology. Their technology provides a great way for churches, ministries and businesses to make their gatherings more interactive. Granger Community Church used this technology in a recent series and the response was tremendous. How would you implement this in your church or business?

Story of Seema

I discovered Samm Hodges work this past weekend on Vimeo and was moved by the above piece. If you are interested in learning more about you can stop slavery in the world visit Call + Response.

Small World… Big Idea

Matthew Carden, an award winning food & lifestyle photographer from San Fransisco, is doing some amazing work with food and photography. His series “Small World” accomplishes what I think all good art should do. It challenges, inspires and causes you ask, “How can I be more creative and original?”

Shadows

I’m in love with this picture from Amelia Lyon Photography. I stumbled across their blog today and was very impressed and inspired with their work. Is it just me or does it seem like their are so many talented photographers out there right now? What do you think?

What Would Jesus Do?

Ed Dobson

Pastor Ed Dobson decided to live like Jesus for a year and discovered it was tougher than he thought. My favorite quote from him about his experience is this: “If you get serious about the Bible, it will really mess you up.” At first glance you might disagree with this quote, but I think it’s quite true. If we are really serious about following what Jesus said and did,  we will find our world turned upside down, and we won’t ever be the same. Read the full article here.

Cool Hand Luke

Cool new video by Andy Reale for Cool Hand Luke. I love the camera angles, the story telling and the look and feel of this video. The song is not half bad either. The group is called Cool Hand Luke and their music is great.

You need to head over to Vincent Laforet’s blog and see the videos he is doing on Jamie O’Brien. He is shooting with new Canon Mark 5D Mark II and the RED One. They were able to get some amazing shots by attaching a camera to a remote control helicopter. It’s exciting to see the kind of films that can be produced with this new equipment and talented photographers like Vincent.
