On Top of The World

Aurland Lookout // Aurland, Norway
Saunders Architecture designed this rest-stop 2,000 ft above Aurland Fjord in Norway. The end of the platform is closed off by a sheet of glass, offering an amazing view. I would love visit here with my D80 and my wide angle lens.

Grand Canyon Skywalk // Grand Canyon, Arizona
This horseshoe shaped glass-bottomed walkway stands 4,000 feet above the floor of the Grand Canyon and can withstand winds of 100 mph. It costs $67.20 to take the walk and no cameras are allowed. The no camera rule is definitely a discouragement from going, but given the chance it’s a opportunity I couldn’t pass up.

Top of Tyrol // Tyrol, Austria
Located on the top of the Mount Isidor in Tyrol, Austria this amazing viewing platform was quite the achievement for architects Aste Architecture. I love the way it’s designed to fit right into the landscape and the pristine views it offers.

These are very cool, but I have to admit my pulse was racing when I saw that glass-bottomed walk over the Grand Canyon – that's a little scary! I am with Leigh Anne ……yikes!

I had a feeling I would be going these alone… Can't say I blame you.

I think it would be a little trippy, but totally worth it.
