Bearing in mind all the traveling that took place over the Thanksgiving holiday, I wanted to share this ad campaign that Ogilvy & Mather designed for Malaysia Airlines.
Malaysia Airlines was trying to target the domestic market and change the perception that traveling with them is expensive. Stickers of various feet on exotic trips and locations were placed on the meal tray. A simple, yet genius design and a great way to capture travelers imagination while getting them thinking about their next trip. See more designs after the break.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. I know I did! It is my favorite holiday of the year because of the food, the time with family & friends and it being the start of the Christmas season.
I always look forward to watching my Detroit Lions play every Thanksgiving, but this year was an exception. I had a feeling I shouldn’t watch the game after such a dismal start to the season (0-12) and I’m so glad I didn’t. They got pounded by the Titans. Oh, well there is always next season…Seems like I have been saying that since Barry Sanders retired.
I love the above photo of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in the early 1930’s. I found it on on Swapatorium.

HSBC was looking to raise awareness about global warming and turned to the Ogilvy & Mather Ad Agency to promote their cause. What they came up with was genius. They glued an arial view of a city to the base of a swimming pool. HSBC has received 300% more hits and increased registrations for their cause since deploying this ad. They also observed increased registrations pledging support for the cause.

What a great advertisement from Daehong Communications. It’s creative & clean and manages to get the point across with an elegant simplicity. I want my designs to reflect more of this school of thought and do away with useless clutter and superfluous text.

Google & LIFE have just teamed up to offer millions of photographs from the LIFE archive. You can search them by clicking here or just add “source:life” to the end of any picture search on google. For example: railroad source:life. I’m going to be using this a lot. How about you?

Ken Imhoff had always wanted a Lamborghini Countach, but didn’t want to pay what a real one cost so he built it himself. It took over ten years of hard work in his basement, but it’s finally done. Read this incredible story of the car I used to dream about in my 5th grade class. I should have been working on sentence structure…
