How To Be A Good Client

How many times have I wished some of my clients adhered to this flyer. If you are a designer/artist it will make you smile or maybe cry, depending on your past experiences.

Say It Like You Mean It

There is a great article by Scott McClellan on Collide Magazine’s blog. The article talks about using media properly, when we actually have a story to tell. Working in media it’s easy to get caught up in the glitz and gadgets sometimes, and forget about the real message of the Gospel. I don’t want to ever be guilty of that.

I love this paragraph — “If you lack that sense of conviction about the message you’re communicating with media—if, in other words, your story can wait—it’s time to put down the media toys and do something about that. Seek an encounter with God Almighty, seek an experience in which you see and hear things that are truly transformational.”

Jumping Ship

I’m very excited about this new camera from Canon and the possibilties it brings to creative professionals. The ability to be able to shoot full-frame high quality pictures and 1080p video all on the same device is nothing less than amazing. The Nikon D90 also has this feature, but only shoots 720p video and doesn’t have an external mic, which limits my use for it. I’m currently shooting Nikon, but the 5D makes me think of jumping ship. What about you? Check out this video that was shot with the 5D.

Creative Marketing

Seen at a supermarket in New York, this campaign created by BBDO is pure genius.
See what I mean after the break.

Ever worked in Church Communications?

I found this great list over at Church Marketing Sucks. If you have ever worked in communications at a church, you will appreciate it. Church Marketing Sucks is a part of the Center for Church Communication and they are dedicated to helping the church matter. They also started the Church Marketing Lab group on Flickr which I am a part of. It’s a great place to post your work, get feedback and be inspired by others designs.

Making a Comeback

Is it just me or would anyone else who grew up in the 80’s be excited to see the Muppets make a comeback?

Frozen

This amazing art looks like a still from a movie. You can see Damián Ortega’s “Controller of the Universe,” a 2007 sculpture in the Weapons section at the P.S. 1 Contemporary Art Center, 22-25 Jackson Avenue at 46th Avenue, Long Island City, Queens.

Brilliant Concept & Design

What a brilliant design. I would love to see more of this kind of design and thinking for signage.
